1. 5G Technology
5G refers to the fifth generation of cellular networks and services. It is projected to deliver at least 20 gigabits per second downlink and 10 gigabits per second uplink, making the 5G network at least 40 times faster than existing 4G LTE networks. Telecom operators will be able to provide new services, network operations, and consumer experiences as a result of this. Switzerland now leads the market, closely followed by South Korea and the United States.
Among the businesses investing in 5G are Samsung, Huawei, Intel, Deloitte, Nokia, Ericsson, and Qualcomm.
2. Internet of Behaviours (IoB)
The Internet of Behaviors is the collecting and use of data to influence behavior (IoB). Industrial sites, for example, have used computer vision to identify if employees were following mask procedures and then collecting this behavioural data to be studied by companies in order to persuade individuals to obey government regulations at work.
The Internet of Things (IoB) may gather, integrate, and analyse data from a number of sources, including:
- Data from citizens is handled by public-sector agencies.
- Data on commercial customers
- Governmental organizations
- Use of social media
- It's in the public domain.
- Tracking your location.
Companies investing in IoB include AWS, Cisco, SAP, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Dell, and Cloudera.
3. DevSecOps
DevSecOps stands for development, security, and operations. Its goal is to deploy security on the same scale and at the same speed as development and operations, rather than merely for the sake of it. DevSecOps appears to be gaining traction in our DevOps industry as Microservices become more widely adopted.
That's not all, though. For enterprises to succeed in this market, they will need a model that allows them to operate everywhere. At its core, this operations paradigm allows a company to be accessible, offered, and empowered from anywhere. GitOps, DataOps, and NoOps are just a few of the subjects covered in this approach.
Among the firms investing in DevSecOps are Amazon, NASA, Capgemini, Dell, and Oracle.
4. Intelligent
Process Automation
'Anything that can be automated should be automated,' is the core premise of robotic process automation. This year, we came across something even more intriguing: Intelligent Process Automation. In a nutshell, IPA enables bots to use AI, Big Data, and Machine Learning skills to learn and improve over time. This helps these intelligent bots evolve from the 'If-this-then-that' guideline. As the usage of automation develops, IPA investment is expected to reach $232 billion by 2025.
Companies such as KPMG, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft have invested in IPA.
5. Tactile Virtual
Reality
Innovative technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality (VR) enable more immersive experiences. Augmented Reality is a technological overlay on top of the real world, whereas Virtual Reality immerses the user in a virtual environment. By 2022, AR-VR traffic will have increased 12-fold across all entertainment industries, according to Cisco.
Touch gives us a greater understanding of things we can't fully experience with our eyes or ears. This difficulty can be solved using Tactile Virtual Reality. It integrates many types of technology, such as sensors and sophisticated optics, into a single gadget that allows you to overlay augmented digital material in your real-time environment. The touch barrier can now be decreased because to advancements in Tactile/Haptic technology.
Tactile VR is being pursued by firms such as Oculus, Virtuix, and Cisco.
6. Big Data
Analytics
For quite some time, Big Data Analytics has been accessible on the market. A growing number of businesses are using it to go beyond traditional data storage and processing techniques.
New technologies, such as X-Analytics, are being used to address issues such as climate change, disease prevention, and animal conservation.
Data engineers may use Decision Intelligence to design, model, execute, and monitor decision models and processes in the context of business outcomes and behaviour. In fact, by 2023, more than 33% of major businesses would employ decision intelligence analysts.
Amazon, Netflix, Starbucks, Spotify, Google, and Adobe are among the companies are investing in Big Data Analytics.
7. Human
Augmentation
Humans have long experimented with technology to enhance our way of life. Human Augmentation, which includes leveraging technology such as Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things to not only enhance our everyday lives but also to push human intelligence to new heights, has become a source of curiosity.
At the moment, research is focusing on employing bionics and prosthetic augmentation to help people with disabilities, as well as working with genes to treat disease. The objective, on the other hand, is to eradicate present physical limitations or to prevent accidents from happening in the first place.
It may also be utilised for a variety of artistic endeavours. Neuralink, for example, is working to develop a super-powerful brain-machine interface that can analyse huge amounts of data.
Neuralink, Google, Samsung, and Ekso are among the companies investing on human enhancement.
8. Everything-as-a-Service (XaaS)
Everything-as-a-Service (XaaS) is a cloud computing phrase for the expanding amount of on-demand services and apps that customers may receive via the Internet rather than on-premises. It provides you the freedom to adapt your computing settings on-demand to create the experiences you want. XaaS currently refers to a variety of services, including:
- Function_as_a_Service
- IT_as_a_Service
- Infrastructure_as_a_Service
- Security_as_a_Service \sDatabase_aa_a_Service
The multi-cloud movement may soon transform into an Omni-cloud trend as these apps get more portable, real-time computing cycles become easier to acquire, data integration platforms ease connectivity, and manufacturers develop cross-platform collaborations.
9. CyberSecurity
With so many businesses undergoing significant digital transformations, awareness of the looming threat of cyberattacks is rising – not only among large organisations, but also among small businesses. Although cybersecurity is not a new topic, its trends are!
- VDN is a new form of cybersecurity in which a signal is transmitted in short bursts or quantum packets that can't be read invisibly without disrupting the content. To put it another way, no one can intercept data delivered to you without adding noise to it.
- By centralizing orchestration and spreading enforcement, Blockchain Cybersecurity provides a more flexible, responsive security strategy.
Companies are coming to realize that having a strong cybersecurity plan is no longer a luxury, but a must.
Among the firms investing in cybersecurity are Cisco, RedHat, and IBM.
10. Artificial Intelligence
A well-designed Artificial Intelligence system will boost performance, scalability, and reliability while also delivering a full return on investment. However, AI projects typically run into issues, making them difficult for most organisations to implement. To overcome these difficulties, however, new approaches have been created.
- Artificial Intelligence Engineering strives to incorporate AI into the whole DevOps process, rather than as a collection of specialised and distinct efforts. Concerns about maintainability, scalability, and governance are all addressed.
- Tiny AI aims to provide algorithms that allow current deep-learning models to be reduced without losing functionality, enabling for more computer power to be packed into smaller physical spaces while consuming significantly less energy.
As a consequence of its potential to usher in a new age, this breakthrough technology has been included to our list of trending technologies.
Among the firms investing in AI are Google, Apple, Amazon, and IBM.
